SCEC2022 Meeting Registration
Log in to SCEC to register for the annual meeting or submit an abstract until the deadline of August 19, 2022 (5:00pm PT). This is a hard deadline—venue reservations and Zoom access to the secure online platform are locked in at the close of registration.
Masks will be required in plenary and poster sessions, and all other indoor spaces except individual hotel lodging rooms. In order to pick up their meeting badges, attendees must be able to show proof of vaccination or negative test results within the last 48 hours. Attendees must also certify they are free from recent close exposure to COVID-19, and free of COVID-19 symptoms.
MEETING REGISTRATION
The 2022 SCEC Annual Meeting will be held as an online meeting, September 11-14, 2022. See the meeting program at: https://www.scec.org/meetings/2022/am.
The registration fee for in-person attendees is $150, which includes full online access. Registration for online-only access is $50. Registering to attend the meeting is a two-part process: registration and payment. Your registration is provisional until your fee is paid through USC’s secure credit card payment page.

Students and Early Career Researchers: Consult with your supervisor and department before paying any out-of-pocket expenses for meetings or conferences. There may be funding support available and other payment mechanisms you are not aware of. If your institution’s resources are exhausted, you may apply for a financial hardship waiver of the registration fee by emailing scecmeet@usc.edu. If you are presenting a poster at the SCEC Annual Meeting and need additional travel support, you may also apply for a travel support award through the SCEC Transitions program.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
SCEC2022 participants are invited to share recent results and activities relevant to SCEC priorities and initiatives during the poster sessions. To submit a poster abstract for consideration, go to: https://www.scec.org/meetings/2022/am/abstracts. The abstract submission deadline is August 19, 2022 (5:00pm PT). There is no abstract submission fee for the 2022 SCEC Annual Meeting.
The person submitting the abstract is automatically the First Author, and will receive all communications regarding the poster abstract. A First Author may submit a maximum of one poster presentation for consideration. Invited plenary speakers should submit an abstract for an oral presentation.
CANCELLATION OR CHANGES
If your plans change and you cancel your registration by September 3, you will receive a full refund minus a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellations received after September 4, 2022 are not eligible for a refund because SCEC must pay the venue regardless of whether or not you actually attend. If you cannot attend the entire meeting for any reason, we will not be able to prorate your registration fee. To cancel your registration, email scecmeet@usc.edu to notify SCEC you will not be attending the meeting.
AFTER AUGUST 19, 2022
There is no late registration or late abstract submission for SCEC2022.
The Southern California Earthquake Center is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all participants. We take pride in fostering a diverse and inclusive SCEC community, and therefore expect all participants to abide by the SCEC Activities Code of Conduct.
