SURVEY

SCEC Internship programs are currently taking applications for Summer 2024. Priority will be given to applications received by February 19, 2024. Applications will continue to be accepted until all positions are filled. Applicants should review the Eligibility and Requirements page carefully prior to completing the application.

The SOURCES program offers a remotely-mentored research experience to college students nationwide. Regardless of geographic location or availability of local researchers, SCEC SOURCES interns will gain valuable research experience and participate in the SCEC collaboratory.

The SURE program pairs a student, one-on-one, to conduct research with an earthquake scientist or specialist. SURE supports students to work in a variety of fields related to earthquake science, including paleoseismic field investigation and earthquake engineering.

Each year, over 200 students apply for a SCEC Internship. Every application is reviewed by a committee composed of SCEC staff, scientists, and internship alumni. If you are offered a SCEC internship, you will have up to 1 week to confirm and accept the appointment. Please make sure you have provided an email address that you check at least once per day
