SCEC Workshop for the Ground Motion Simulation Validation (GMSV) Technical Activity Group (TAG)

Conveners: Sanaz RezaeianNico Luco, and Jon Stewart
Dates:  December 6, 2019 (9:00am - 3:00pm)
Location: SCEC Boardroom, USC, Los Angeles
SCEC Award and Report: 19181

SUMMARY: Established in 2011, the SCEC Ground Motion Simulation Validation (GMSV) Technical Activity Group (TAG) is focused on developing and implementing, via collaboration between ground motion modelers and engineering users, testing/rating methodologies for simulated ground motions that are to be used in engineering applications. During the workshop we will review and discuss the draft guidelines on “Utilization of SCEC simulations for engineering building response applications in the U.S.” This document will be distributed to the attendees prior to the workshop. The goal is to modify and finalize it for a completion date of 2/29/2020.
