Community Geodetic Model (CGM) Workshop

Conveners: Jessica Murray (USGS), Rowena Lohman (Cornell) and David Sandwell (UCSD/SIO)
Dates: January 28-29, 2016
Location: Kellogg West Conference Center, Pomona, CA
Attendance: If interested in attending, please contact conveners
SCEC Award: 15152

OVERVIEW: The SCEC Community Geodetic Model Workshop will be held in Pomona, California on January 28-29, 2016. The primary focus of the workshop will be integration of the GPS and InSAR groups' results into a combined CGM product. We will identify action items for this last year of SCEC4 research and outline next steps that will carry the CGM into a hoped-for SCEC5 collaboration. A talk presented at the 2015 SCEC Annual meeting that provides an overview of the CGM and recent results (click to download PDF).

An optional post-workshop meeting will be held Friday afternoon (1:00-4:00pm) for those who are interested. The topic will be InSAR processing methods for the new wide-swath data streams from Sentinel-1A and ALOS-2. We will assemble sample data sets  prior to the meeting so participants can compare results and techniques.

PARTICIPANTS: Piyush Agram (NASA JPL), Scott Baker (UNAVCO), Adrian Borsa (SIO), Heresh Fattahi (Caltech), Yuri Fialko (UCSD), Eric Fielding (JPL, Caltech), Mike Floyd (MIT), Gareth Funning (UCR), Bill Hammond (University of Nevada, Reno), Tom Herring (MIT), Mong-Han Huang (NASA JPL), Tran Huynh (SCEC/USC), Chris Johnson (UC Berkeley), Cunren Liang (NASA JPL), Zhen Liu (JPL), Paul Lundgren (JPL),  Rob McCaffrey (PSU), Jessica Murray (USGS), Susan Owen (JPL), Gilles Peltzer (UCLA), David Sandwell (SIO), Zheng-Kang Shen (UCLA), Manoochehr Shirzaei (ASU), Mark Simons (Caltech), Josh Spinler (University of Arkansas at Little Rock), Xiaopeng Tong (University of Washington), Ekaterina Tymofyeyeva (UCSD), Xiaohua Xu (Scripps Inst of Oceanography), and Yuehua Zeng (USGS)
