SCEC2020 Meeting Program
The Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) is funded by the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Geological Survey to develop a comprehensive understanding of earthquakes in Southern California and elsewhere, and to communicate useful knowledge for reducing earthquake risk. At our annual collaboration meeting, members of the SCEC community gather to share recent research results, review project progress, and plan priorities for the SCEC collaboration to pursue in the next year.
The SCEC Science Planning Committee designed an online program for the purpose of reviewing SCEC5 progress, engaging the community on new SCEC initiatives, and gathering input on potential priorities for the Center. The online meeting program consisted of thematic plenary sessions and a panel debate that included invited talks and moderated discussions. As with past annual meetings, the SCEC community was invited to share recent results and activities during the poster sessions. An enhanced online poster gallery, as well as three live poster viewing sessions, facilitated online connections and collaborations. Newly developed tools and technologies provided greater accessibility and improved the online meeting experience for registered attendees. Learn more about the online meeting platform here.
