The Department of Earth & Space Sciences seeks candidates for a tenured or tenure track faculty appointment in geophysics. Applicants from all sub-disciplines of geophysics are invited, but preference will be given to candidates in seismology or those who complement existing strengths in geodynamics, tectonophysics, and mineral physics. Applications for all levels will be considered, but appointment at the assistant professor level is preferred to fill the Leon and Joanne V.C. Knopoff Assistant Professorship in Physics and Geophysics, a term chair position earmarked for early career development of solid Earth geophysics faculty members at UCLA. A possible joint appointment in the Department of Physics and Astronomy will also be considered.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in geophysics or a related field. Please include curriculum vitae, a statement of research and teaching, a complete list of publications, names and addresses of three referees, electronic or paper copies of up to five significant publications, and a cover letter addressing how your experience fits the job description.
