The Seattle office of the U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Science Center is interested in hiring a Research Geophysicist for a one year term appointment to perform 3D ground-motion simulations for great Cascadia earthquakes and analyze the results. This work is part of an effort to estimate strong ground motions from future great earthquakes on the Cascadia subduction zone and improve assessments of seismic hazard in the Pacific Northwest. The applicant should have a Ph.D. or equivalent. Experience in numerical simulations of seismic waves in 3D velocity models is desirable. The salary range is $73,420 to $95,444 Per Year. The applicant must be a United States citizen.
