Database of finite-source rupture models
Date: 07/24/2007
An update on a database of rupture models from P. Martin Mai, ETH Zurich:
Esteemed colleagues,
We have updated, expanded and improved the database of finite-source rupture models, available at www.seismo.ethz.ch/srcmod
*Changes / New features:*
- We have made an effort to provide the full three-dimensional source geometry of all rupture models, which is particularly useful in case of multi-segment ruptures; upon selecting a particular event-page, the 3D-view of the rupture model is shown along with several tables on source parameters and inversion setup
- If available we have added the full spatio-temporal rupture model information, i.e. multi-time-window solutions and data on variable rupture velocity and rise time, if applicable.
- A number of additional rupture models are available; there are now more than *150 source models* represented in the database
- Meta-data on station configuration and inversion parameterization are updated and added
*Please *use this resource for your research and teaching, and inform other potentially interested people about it.
Also, please report any missing data, errors or inconsistencies that are probably still there ...
*Finally*: we encourage all "source-inverters" to contribute to this database by providing their published source-rupture models. We believe that this database is a very useful resource for future work on seismic hazard, earthquake source dynamics, fault mechanics -- additional source-model will make this resource even more valuable.
best regards,
Martin
