UNLV seeks Visiting Assistant Professor in Geoscience

The University of Nevada Las Vegas (http://www.unlv.edu/) invites applications for two Visiting Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Geoscience commencing Fall 2007). These are full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track positions. Responsibilities include teaching 12 credit hours per semester (four courses per semester) and providing college, university, and professional service. These positions include full access to all of our research facilities (see http://geoscience.unlv.edu/). For one position preference will be given to candidates with previous university teaching experience and/or a specialization in surface processes, soils, Quaternary geology, or geomorphology. For one position preference will be given to candidates with previous university teaching experience and/or a specialization in geophysics or tectonics. Ability to teach GIS is preferred but not required for either position. The successful applicants will be expected to develop an innovative teaching program.
Applicants must hold a doctorate in Geoscience or a related field.
Salary is competitive; contingent on labor market. Position is contingent upon funding.
