UCSB solicits applications for a tenure-track faculty position as described below:
CONTINENTAL DYNAMICS
The Department of Earth Science at the University of California at Santa Barbara seeks a broadly educated geoscientist who conducts creative research on the structural/petrological evolution of the continents. A field orientation combined with expertise in analytical tools, such as geochronology or isotope geochemistry, or computational skills, such as numerical modeling or GIS analysis, is required. The appointee is expected to develop a vigorous, externally funded research program and teach undergraduate and graduate courses. This tenure-track appointment will be as an Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2008.
A Ph.D. is required at the time of appointment. Review of applications will begin October 15, 2007.
