We are particularly interested in candidates whose research is complementary to our existing strengths in theoretical/numerical modeling of earthquakes and earthquake processes, observational seismology, and experimental and theoretical investigations of rheological properties as they pertain to shallow and deep earthquakes. Our current faculty in these areas consists of Elizabeth Cochran, James Dieterich, Harry Green, David Oglesby, and Guanshui Xu. We are a core member of the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) and the national Consortium for Materials Property Research in Earth Sciences (COMPRES), and we are active in the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics (IGPP).
