Deadline: September 1, 2019
Participants: 50 maximum

Date: September 8, 2019
Time: 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Location: Hilton Palm Springs Resort (Palm Canyon Room)

SUMMARY: When you get the chance to speak in front of an audience, whether that’s in-person, online, or through a camera, what worries goes through your head? Are you upset that you even feel such anxiety? Do you feel like you’re just spouting facts and figures but not really delivering and making a last impression? Are you concerned about how you look or sound? Relax, these are all normal feelings, and it’s okay! In this workshop, we’ll explore how you can express your work in new and tried-and-true ways. We’ll discuss and try a variety of mental, verbal, and physical skills, from figurative language, storytelling, and humor devices to vocal and gestural techniques. A major focus will be on how to adapt to your audience and interact with and inspire them! We will also view examples of the good, bad, and the ugly - even the truly exceptional. And you will walk away with new guidance, tools, and skills, even an improved sense of confidence.

Ahead of the workshop, think about 3-4 topics you often speak about (3-4). Come prepared to apply what you learn in a safe, supportive environment.
